EHS for short – refers to a highly-structured health assessment programme that aims to evaluate the status of your health and help detect any serious underlying diseases early.
Because at MHC, we understand that early diagnosis allows for early intervention. And early treatment provides better overall outcome in disease management. That is why, we have a wide selection of EHS packages to cater to your different needs.
Stay in health for your loved ones! Get screened for dreaded diseases like cancer and heart attacks early.
EHS can be broken down into the following components:
1. History Taking
Your family history, personal past medical history & current state of health are meticulously documented*.
A careful analysis of your medical history by our doctors then helps draw focus to potential risk factors which may need further evaluation & attention.
2. Physical Examination
Our doctors will then conduct a complete head to toe examination of your body. This includes measurements of your height, weight, body mass index, eyesight, blood pressure and pulse rate.
3. Electrocardiogram (ECG)
An ECG evaluates the electrical activity of the heart. Analysis of the various wave patterns not only allows the nature of any underlying heart disorder to be established, but also the location of any heart muscle damage.
As heart health is such an important part of overall health, we have included an ECG assessment in each screening package*.
Our doctors will require a sample of fasting blood, together with urine and stools specimens, for laboratory analysis.
Laboratory tests are the cornerstones of any serious health screening programme. They include the evaluation of your blood count, cholesterol levels, endocrine system and every other major organ system within the human body through the measurement of electrolytes & metabolic markers.
Infectious diseases screening – such as for Hepatitis, HIV & syphillis – are done via blood antibody levels.
Early cancer screening – through tumour markers – are also performed.
Urinary analysis allows detection of diseases such as diabetes, kidney stones and urinary tract infection.
Stools analysis allows for screening of parasitic intestinal infection, & detection of occult bleeding – which may indicate the presence of colon cancer.
5. Pap Smears (for ladies)
Pap smears allow for the cancer of the cervix to be detected early*.
6. Medical Imaging/ Radiological Tests
Depending on your risk factors and our doctors’ clinical findings, further imaging tests may be advised.
These imaging tests ranges from Xrays of the chest to ultrasound scans of the abdomen & pelvis.
Mammograms are also recommended for ladies at or above the age of 40.
7. Review of EHS Report
Following your EHS session, do allow us a few days to compile all the results into a personalised report.
Your doctor will then review with you any abnormalities or concerns detected earlier during your EHS.
If need be, treatment for any underlying disease may be started, or perhaps a referral to a relevent specialist for further evaluation may be initiated.
Of course, if you cannot make the time to come for a review, your report can be forwarded to your mailing address.
