  • Confirm your data, time and type of screening before your health screening appointment.
  • Please remember to bring along your previous medical records or films if requested, for your doctor's reference.
  • Fasting is required for accurate assessment during your screening.
  • Please DO NOT EAT 8 to 10 hours before your appointment. This would mean no food or drink starting from 10pm to 12midnight the night before for accurate assessment of your glucose and cholesterol blood tests, as well as abdominal ultrasound scanning.
  • Only PLAIN WATER is allowed to be consumed.
  • Light refreshment will be provided once your blood has been drawn by our nurses.
* If you are on any prescribed medication, please continue your medication as directed by your doctor.

* If you are a diabetic and you are on food restriction, please omit your anti-diabetic drugs. Postpone taking of medications, unless otherwise advised by your doctor. Bring your medication along and have them after your screening/breakfast at the centre.

Actual Day

Upon completion of registration, please note that your entire screening process may take between 2 - 4.5 hours, depending on the type of package you have. Note: the tests and examinations may not necessarily be conducted in a sequential order.

Stool / Urine Collection

  • Avoid red meat and iron supplements 3 days before your appointment.
  • You may collect your stools the night before or on the day of your appointment.
  • Collect about 1 teaspoonful of stool in the container provided.
  • For urine analysis, it is recommended for you to collect a mid-stream specimen ie. do not collect urine at the initial and terminal phase of urination.

Procedure after blood test

Do not rub or massage at the punctured site after blood taking. You should press for at least 10 minutes on the punctured site to prevent bruising.

Treadmill Stress Test

  • Please bring along your jogging attire and shoes for the above test as you may perspire. Showering kits will be provided upon request after your test.
  • Do inform our staff if you have pre-existing heart problems before the test. This is to ensure that we take preventive measures before the strenuous exercise to better prepare your body.

Ultrasound of Abdomen

  • Please abstain from food at least 7 hours before the appointment, ie:
    • No breakfast before your morning appointment, or
    • No lunch before your afternoon appointment, but light breakfast before 0700hr is allowed.

  • If you are menstruating on the day of your appointment, please inform our staff upon arrival.
  • Do not use vaginal douche or pessary within 24 hours before the smear.
  • Refrain from sex 24 hours before the smear because remaining sperm can interfere with the results.
