MHC signed MOU with Lippo Siloam Hospitals Group

MHC Medical Network Pte Ltd, subsidiary of MHC Asia Group, and Siloam Hospitals Group, subsidiary of PT Lippo Karawaci Tbk have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to form a business partnership to bring MHC’s brand of Managed Care and Third Party Administration to Indonesia.

The MOU was signed by Dr Low Lee Yong, Chief Executive of MHC and Mr. Sugianganto Budisuharto, Director, New Hospitals, Partnership & Development, in the presence of Mrs Cecilia Tan, Chairman of MHC, Mr Png Cheong Boon, Chief Executive of SPRING Singapore and Dr Sammy Santoso of Siloam Hospitals Group.

Under the business arrangement, “PT MHC Indonesia” which will be incorporated, will license MHC’s cutting edge web-based and smartphone healthcare technology.

MHC will collaborate with Lippo Group’s businesses to link up key stakeholders in the Indonesian healthcare industry, including the general and life insurers, corporate customers, clinics, laboratories, pharmacies, and patients with its web based and smartphone technology.

“This agreement underscores our confidence in the tremendous potential of the healthcare sector in Indonesia. We are pleased to partner with Lippo Group in the growing Indonesian market. This is an important step for us as we expand into the Indonesian market,” said Dr Low Lee Yong, Chief Executive of MHC.

“The signing of this MOU means that Lippo will now be able to expand into the area of Managed Care in the Indonesian market. We hope that the partnership will help to ease the administration burden for our hospital group, contain healthcare costs, and provide manage care health benefits in a more efficient manner,” said Mr Budisuharto, Director, New Hospitals, Partnership & Development.

Based on Indonesia’s population, the market size of the Managed Care and Third Party Administration business in Indonesia is enormous and the largest in the region.
